Your Cat is Overweight

An overweight condition in cats should not be ignored since there is a direct relationship between this condition and several medical problems including idiopathic cystitis, diabetes and cancer.
TOP REASONS TO KEEP YOUR CAT AT AN IDEAL WEIGHT:
- Greater Energy and Vitality
- Enhanced Longevity
- Improved Skin and Coat
- Lowered Risk of Diabetes
- Lowered Anesthetic/Surgical Risk
- Lowered Risk of Cancer
- Lowered Risk of Urinary Tract Infections
- Longer Life
The first approach is to simply feed less food per day. Start with three different five-minute feedings. Try some environmental enrichment to increase the activity level. After one month, have your cat re-weighed to determine if this is working.
However, if this basic approach is unsuccessful there is another option that has resulted in great success. It simply involves feeding HIGH PROTEIN canned foods for a period of at least one month (either canned M/D or D/M) then reweigh and establish a proper ongoing feeding program.
